Government Abolished Certificate Attestation Requirement

University students looking forward to take admissions now no longer required getting copies of their certificates attested from Gazetted officer as the Government has wiped out this policy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi following up the decision said self-attestation of the documents by the students will be sufficient.

The decision will bring huge relief to the students as attestation involves time wastage of citizens and of officials as well, instead it will save students to keep away from hassles, ministry officials said.

Self-attestation policy is friendly policy among citizens; UGC has sent a statement to vice chancellors of the universities to take initiatives and all the urgent measures to implement the process giving them a week time to meet the directions.

According to officials the self-attestation policy has been accepted in order to make procedures simplified. Under this decision the original documents are required to be presented at the final stage of admission.
