AIPMT Qualification Eligibility Criteria 2015 CBSE All India Pre Medical Test

 

 

The eligibility criterion for AIPMT as laid down by CBSE includes Educational qualifications, subject requirements and age criteria.
 
  • The candidate applying must be at least 17 years of age at the time of admission or must complete the age on or before Dec 31st of the year the entrance exam is scheduled.
  • The upper age limit for the candidates applying is 25 years, however the upper age limit can be relaxed by 5 years for students belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Classes. 
  • Indian nationals as well as Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) candidates may appear for the exam.
  • Candidates, who have appeared for the intermediate examination and result is awaited, are eligible to apply for the entrance exam.

Educational qualification required to appear in AIPMT

  • Applicant must have appeared class 10 + 2 or equivalent exam. The candidate must appear and qualify in the 12th standard exam with PCB and English (with Maths or any approved fifth subject)
  • Only those candidates will be eligible to take AIPMT who have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English subjects individually.
  • Minimum marks for candidates educated abroad seeking admission in medical colleges in India must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English up to Class 12 with 50% marks and their equivalency determined as per regulations of Medical Council of India and the concerned university. 
  • Candidate must obtain at least 50% marks for General students, 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC.

Some reservations for candidates belonging to the deprived categories

  • 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates
  • 7.5% seats are reserved for ST candidates
  • 27% seats are reserved for non-creamy layer OBC
  • 3% seats are reserved on horizontal basis for PH (Physically Handicapped) candidates
